5-Minute Meditation
I’ve recently been asked a lot about meditation. The main question has been about know how I clear my mind from all of the thoughts and stresses of the day. There are a number of meditation methods, so it’s important to find out what works best for you. I have tried a number of techniques, and I switch it up on a regular basis so I don’t get tired of it. Sometimes I use guided meditations like this, and other times I just focus on my breathing (using the breathing techniques I learned in the “Art of Living” course). Other times, I will enter into contemplative meditation after reading an inspirational passage or scripture. There are a ton of free guided meditations on YouTube – you’re guaranteed to find something that will work for you.
Since I started doing it consistently, I feel less stressed and more present in every moment because my mind is no longer racing with thoughts about the past and/or future. Research has proven the benefits of even just 5 minutes of meditation per day can have on your well-being. This is great news for those of us with busy schedules. You don’t have to sit in meditation for hours. A little quiet time in the morning and a night can make a world of difference in how you feel.
For beginners, I recommend starting with a short meditation with some light music that you can focus on. Click here for a 5-minute one that I use from time to time (particularly to center myself in the middle of the work day). Don’t forget your headphones! Have a great night…
Keep shining!
