Let It Go

June 15, 2012 0 Comments

I have been super excited this week for a number of reasons, but one of the big ones has been that I have an AMAZING vision in mind that ignites my true passions and will take me in new directions.  I talked about this a little bit in last week’s “Dreams are our Guideposts” blog, but now I’ve had another week to “cook” the idea some more and what is unfolding is beyond my wildest dreams.  I am a natural dreamer and visionary – it’s one of the gifts I am blessed with, but sometimes that can lead my mind way out in the future  and I miss the present moment.  I’ll spend hours working on a plan, thinking about who I can partner with, dreaming about what my life will be like then, thinking about potential obstacles, etc.  Have you ever had that experience?  Have you ever been SO excited about something that it consumed the majority of your thoughts?

I was writing down some of my new ideas in my journal earlier, when I noticed a ladybug crawling across my Course in Miracles book.  It seriously appeared out of nowhere, so it scared me at first.  I picked it up and took it outside to release it, and almost went back to writing but something told me to look up the meaning of ladybugs.  Below is a list of the meanings my search led me to.

  • Spiritual enlightenment
  • Rebirth/Renewal
  • Regeneration
  • Fearlessness
  • Protection
  • Good Luck
  • Wishes being fulfilled

I went on to read that a ladybug showing up in your life foretells a time of luck and protection, where wishes start to come to fruition.  The ladybug reminds you not to force things or try hard to fulfill your wishes and to, instead, go with the flow and let things take their natural course.  Your wishes will come true in their own time.  When it appears in your life, it’s telling you to let go and let God.  As a messenger of promise, the ladybug teaches us how to restore faith & trust in the Spirit.  It initiates change where it is needed most.  When a ladybug appears it is asking us to get out of our own way and allow the Spirit to enter.

WOW.  If that isn’t God speaking to me, I don’t know what is :-).  I really needed that message today.  I need to remind myself on a regular basis to let go and let God.  I can’t plan every step of the way or manipulate things so they turn out the way I want them to.  When has God’s plan ever been less than what I envisioned?  Um….let me think….never.  God has the absolute highest vision for my life if I would just get out of the way and let the Holy Spirit work through me.

So, today I am working on letting it go.  I’m not going to say it’s easy for me to do, but it’s my lesson for today and I’m taking it seriously.  I am reminding myself that “ALL things work together for good for those who love God” (Romans 8:28).  With that reminder I am knowing that, even if it doesn’t look the way I envision it right now, it will be spectacular and orchestrated by God .  Whew.  What a release!

What future idea are you attached to that is keeping you from enjoying what’s in front of you right now?

A friend of mine posted a song on Facebook earlier today that is SO fitting for the message I received today – “Let It Go” by Jazzanova.  Definitely take a listen…you can’t not “let it go” after listening to this :-).  Have a beautiful weekend, everyone!  Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!

Keep shining!

About the Author:

I used to live life shackled by fear, doubt, and worry. I put on a happy face while navigating my day-to-day duties, but I was emotionally drained, stressed, and unhappy. When I hit rock bottom, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I was determined to live life differently. I knew there had to be another way. Out of that determination, and guidance from Spirit, the "Living in the Light" blog was born. It documents my spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the Light. After nine months of publicly sharing my journey, and consciously releasing my attachment to the ego, I experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. I went from living in fear, doubt, worry, and stress to complete inner peace. My greatest passion has become assisting others on their own journey to inner peace. My spiritual memoir, From Stress to Peace: An Intimate Journal on the Journey from Living in Darkness to Living in the Light, is available now on Amazon and BN.com. Click the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the From Stress to Peace 21-Day Challenge, Living in the Light Retreats, 1:1 sessions, and the Living in the Light Community - all of which are designed to support your journey to inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to visit the blog and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!
