Embodying the Divine

The memory of the time in my life when I was feeling stressed, out-of-balance, overwhelmed, worried about the future, resentful of past hurts, ashamed of my mistakes, annoyed with a number of people, and completely unsure of how to be at peace lies so vividly in my mind.  I am grateful that I haven’t forgotten because it is that memory that drives me to do what I do each day to assist others with transcending similar emotions and beliefs.

I remember the very moment that I said something like this to myself, “There has to be another way to live.  There has to be a way to be completely at peace, regardless of the circumstances.  I am dedicated to finding that way and, when I do, sharing it with others.”  At the time, I had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and had been prescribed medication that I had no intention of staying on.  I had a negative perspective about anti-depressants (one that I had verbally expressed multiple times), so being on them left me feeling embarrassed and like a complete failure.

My intensive spiritual journey continued with a personal retreat, where I spent time in meditation and prayer and began practicing yoga again.  I also created a vision board which represented the balance, peace, harmony, and spiritual growth I wanted to focus on for the coming year.

I came home with a renewed sense of devotion to spiritual practice – more intense than I had ever experienced.  I didn’t just want to study the spiritual texts and go to church.  I wanted to understand the deeper meaning underlying each word the great Teachers have spoken.  I wanted to live just like them, and fully embody the qualities they so flawlessly demonstrated to the world.  So, how does one go about doing that?

I thought I was going to have to do a lot of research on classes I could take, and read a bunch of reviews of spiritual teachers that I could potentially work with.  What unfolded far surpassed my expectations.  Once I set the clear intention of wanting to embody the Divine, teachers literally were sent my way.  I can’t explain it other than to say, “Ask and you shall receive” and “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours” are not just nice sayings – they are spiritual laws under which we operate (whether consciously or unconsciously).

My deepest desire was not only to achieve inner peace for myself, but to be able to share it with others.  After intensely studying and, most importantly, applying all that I have learned (some of which has been shared on this blog over the past year), I have reached the point in my journey in which I am ready to share what I have learned more formally  (although the journey is not over by any means).

“When you learn, teach.  When you get, give.” ~Maya Angelou

I am so excited to announce the launch of my first class: From Stress to Peace!  My goal is to assist others in moving from feeling stressed and distant from God to truly embodying their Divine nature (the Christ within).  In addition, I have a strong passion for supporting others in designing a daily spiritual practice that can fit into a busy schedule while still having maximum impact.

So, what does it mean to embody the Divine within?  To live in perfect peace, to remember yourself and others as reflections of God, to show compassion toward those who are not acting according to their Divinity, to express gratitude in each moment, to consistently extend forgiveness, to love unconditionally, to trust wholeheartedly in the Divine plan, to lean on spiritual understanding verses the thinking of the world, to rest confidently in the Truth with no need to defend oneself, and the list goes on.

Have you been feeling frustrated with situations or people in your life?  Have you been feeling stressed and out of balance?  Do you feel like you have no time for meditation, contemplation or prayer in your daily schedule?  Have you been living with fear, doubt, or worry?  Do you find it challenging to quiet your mind?  Do you find it challenging not to react to “negative” people?  Do you have a strong desire to experience and extend the Peace of God?  If you answered “yes” to any of these, then you don’t want to miss “From Stress to Peace!”  It’s a 21-day challenge which will give you a jump start to balancing your life and returning to inner peace.  Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. EST from May 9th – May 30th.  All classes will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.

For more information on the class, and how to register, click here.  Enrollment will be limited to 25 to allow for maximum group participation and 1:1 coaching time.  This is not going to be an impersonal experience; In addition to the group classes, you will receive a 1:1 session to discuss how to apply this to the unique circumstances in your life as well as Q&A throughout the week on any topic you have questions about.

About the Author:

I used to live life shackled by fear, doubt, and worry. I put on a happy face while navigating my day-to-day duties, but I was emotionally drained, stressed, and unhappy. When I hit rock bottom, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I was determined to live life differently. I knew there had to be another way. Out of that determination, and guidance from Spirit, the "Living in the Light" blog was born. It documents my spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the Light. After nine months of publicly sharing my journey, and consciously releasing my attachment to the ego, I experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. I went from living in fear, doubt, worry, and stress to complete inner peace. My greatest passion has become assisting others on their own journey to inner peace. My spiritual memoir, From Stress to Peace: An Intimate Journal on the Journey from Living in Darkness to Living in the Light, is available now on Amazon and BN.com. Click the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the From Stress to Peace 21-Day Challenge, Living in the Light Retreats, 1:1 sessions, and the Living in the Light Community - all of which are designed to support your journey to inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to visit the blog and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!
