I used to live life shackled by fear, doubt, and worry. I put on a happy face while navigating my day-to-day duties, but I was emotionally drained, stressed, and unhappy. When I hit rock bottom, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I was determined to live life differently. I knew there had to be another way. Out of that determination, and guidance from Spirit, the "Living in the Light" blog was born. It documents my spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the Light. After nine months of publicly sharing my journey, and consciously releasing my attachment to the ego, I experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. I went from living in fear, doubt, worry, and stress to complete inner peace. My greatest passion has become assisting others on their own journey to inner peace.

My spiritual memoir, From Stress to Peace: An Intimate Journal on the Journey from Living in Darkness to Living in the Light, is available now on Amazon and BN.com. Click the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the From Stress to Peace 21-Day Challenge, Living in the Light Retreats, 1:1 sessions, and the Living in the Light Community - all of which are designed to support your journey to inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to visit the blog and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!

How to Love Yourself

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  At this time of year, we are inundated with the idea that love must be sought, or received, from without.  We are shown images of couples wining and dining and surprising one another with gifts.  We are flooded with advertisements for chocolates, candy, flowers, and restaurant discounts. But, […]

How to Stop Self-Criticism

For much of my life, I was extremely concerned about others opinions of me.  When I say “extremely concerned,” I mean I was guarded with what I said to avoid conflict, I was constantly worrying about how I came across to others, I hid anything that might be viewed as a flaw or weakness, I […]

How We Can Heal the World

Today is the day we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Every year, around this time, I find myself reflecting even more on what I am doing to continue the legacy of those who came before whose Light shined so brightly in the world. This morning, I was reading through some quotes by Dr. Martin […]

The beginning of the year brings with it such excitement and hope.  Individuals set high intentions and aspirations for the year, and declare that this will be the year they will stick to their goals.  Inevitably, a moment comes that each of us has experienced, in one form or another, throughout our lives.  You know, […]

Take a Bow

Over the past couple weeks, I spent some time reviewing entries in my journal from throughout the year.  It was beautiful to re-live the moments of growth, devotion, release, and surrender.  Tears welled up as I thought about the dramatic shifts that continue to occur as I shed more and more layers of the false […]

How to Love Unconditionally

I ran across this beautiful, heartfelt expression of how to truly love unconditionally and I just had to share with you.  I could not have written it better myself.  It is an exact expression of  how I now feel about everyone and everything, including you.  There is nothing I want more than for everyone to […]

Nelson Mandela: A Master Teacher for Humanity

Since the news of Nelson Mandela’s transition Home, I have felt a sense of unrest.  I did not feel sad when I heard the news, as I believe he fulfilled his purpose in this lifetime and I know he is resting in the Peace of God.  Instead, I felt a sense of responsibility.  Responsibility to […]

Remembering Forgiveness No Matter What

Remembering Forgiveness No Matter What

Last week I had a profound reminder of the power of forgiveness.  When I set the intention to extend forgiveness, regardless of the circumstances, last year, I had no idea that the number of opportunities presented to me to forgive would increase.  Or, maybe I was just more aware of them given my commitment to […]

You Harvest What You Plant

You Harvest What You Plant

I started a garden in July, and I am being reminded of so many spiritual truths through nurturing it.  One central theme is:  You harvest what you plant.  It’s such a simple spiritual law that gets talked about frequently (e.g. “You reap what you sow”), but how often do we pause and truly apply that […]
