I used to live life shackled by fear, doubt, and worry. I put on a happy face while navigating my day-to-day duties, but I was emotionally drained, stressed, and unhappy. When I hit rock bottom, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I was determined to live life differently. I knew there had to be another way. Out of that determination, and guidance from Spirit, the "Living in the Light" blog was born. It documents my spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the Light. After nine months of publicly sharing my journey, and consciously releasing my attachment to the ego, I experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. I went from living in fear, doubt, worry, and stress to complete inner peace. My greatest passion has become assisting others on their own journey to inner peace.

My spiritual memoir, From Stress to Peace: An Intimate Journal on the Journey from Living in Darkness to Living in the Light, is available now on Amazon and BN.com. Click the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the From Stress to Peace 21-Day Challenge, Living in the Light Retreats, 1:1 sessions, and the Living in the Light Community - all of which are designed to support your journey to inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to visit the blog and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!

3 Tips for Finding Peace

I am frequently asked the question, “How do I find peace?”  I typically respond by asking a series of questions like “Walk me through a typical day for you?”  and “What does ‘finding peace’ mean to you?”  It never ceases to amaze me how far apart what many actually do on a day-to-day basis can […]

The Cure for Violence, Anger, and Hatred

There are particular occasions that inspire numerous individuals to reflect on their actions and the actions of those around them.  One such occasion is murder.  The tragic loss of life leaves individuals questioning whether or not we can ever truly live in a peaceful world. Unfortunately, within the last week, there have been too many […]

Serving Humanity

Today is the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.  I have been reflecting on the power of the civil rights movement, and what has been done since to bring “the dream” to fruition.  I spent some time reading speeches from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech […]

From Resistance to Acceptance

Have you ever found yourself resisting the way that things are?  Okay, we all have.  You know, those times when we complain about what is going on and begin to cry, “Why me?”  Well, I thought I was over that.  I thought, after all of the coaching and spiritual teaching that I do that I […]

A Simple Tip for Releasing Negative Thoughts

Every week I receive a question or comment from someone about how to release negative thoughts.  I addressed this briefly in my 5 Steps to Releasing Negativity post last fall, but that only scratched the surface.  I know how it feels to not know what to do with the negative thoughts and emotions that can […]

No More Suffering in Silence

No More Suffering in Silence

For much of my life I felt like a fraud.  On the outside, everything looked wonderful.  I was married to an amazing man, had a six-figure job, had two healthy kids, owned a home, etc.   On the inside, I was a complete mess. Although I was indeed “succeeding” according to the world’s standards, I never […]

Let Freedom Ring!

Let Freedom Ring!

While in meditation on Monday of this week, I kept hearing “Let Freedom Ring.”  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. famously said this at the end of his “I Have a Dream” speech.  I believe this was my grandmother’s way of connecting with me as the 4th of July was approaching.  She passed away three and […]

The Art of Silencing the Mind

One of the questions I most frequently get asked is, “How do you quiet your thoughts during meditation?”  I remember wondering the same thing at the beginning of last year when I got serious about practicing meditation daily.  I tried many different types of meditation, and was always hoping the next technique would be the […]

Living in the Light Update

It has been a couple weeks since I last posted.  I have been busy working on something I am incredibly excited about – my book!  I recently finished the first draft of the manuscript, so it is becoming more real as I move into the next phase of editing.  I can’t wait to share it […]
