I used to live life shackled by fear, doubt, and worry. I put on a happy face while navigating my day-to-day duties, but I was emotionally drained, stressed, and unhappy. When I hit rock bottom, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I was determined to live life differently. I knew there had to be another way. Out of that determination, and guidance from Spirit, the "Living in the Light" blog was born. It documents my spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the Light. After nine months of publicly sharing my journey, and consciously releasing my attachment to the ego, I experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. I went from living in fear, doubt, worry, and stress to complete inner peace. My greatest passion has become assisting others on their own journey to inner peace.
My spiritual memoir, From Stress to Peace: An Intimate Journal on the Journey from Living in Darkness to Living in the Light, is available now on Amazon and BN.com. Click the tabs at the top of the page to learn more about the From Stress to Peace 21-Day Challenge, Living in the Light Retreats, 1:1 sessions, and the Living in the Light Community - all of which are designed to support your journey to inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to visit the blog and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!
An Instrument in the Arms of God
I have loved music since as far back as I can remember. My dad had (and still has) the largest record collection I’ve ever seen in person. I grew up loving all types of music, but had a particular affinity for jazz. Every summer, we went to the Saratoga Jazz Festival in NY – a […]
Queen Bee
Over the past week I have had a number of interesting encounters with bees. At first I chalked it up as coincidence, but after the third encounter I really believe there was a message there for me. I was sitting in my office last week and two bees appeared out of nowhere. I say “out of […]
The Boomerang Effect of Judgement
Earlier this week, I was in a situation where a bunch of people around me were in “judgement mode” and were feeding off of each other in putting someone down. I allowed myself to forget my commitment to “living in the light” for a moment and joined in with a couple of comments. Afterwards, I […]
Spirituality and Karma Yoga
I was so happy to hear Oprah and Deepak Chopra talking about Karma on Life Class last night! On Monday morning after meditation, the blog topic that came to me was “Karma Yoga”. At the time I just wrote it down, but I didn’t do anything with it all day and then I turn on Oprah’s Life Class […]
Powerful Interview w/ Iyanla Vanzant
I normally try to take a break from posting to the blog on the weekends, but this was absolutely worth sharing…especially while many of you have a moment to breathe. I listened to this interview with Iyanla Vanzant by Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith this evening and was really blessed and encouraged by it. It has some powerful […]
When the Going Gets Tough…Keep Loving!
Like I said in the “About” section of this site, I started this blog to share the ups and downs on my journey to “Living in the Light”. Well, today started off as a down day. I woke up with a heavy heart due to facing judgement and opinions of some who disagree with my transparency. […]
The Greatest Love of All
The theme of this week for me has been forgiveness. On Sunday, I started thinking about what to include in my forgiveness letter which is an assignment for my 7-week spiritual boot camp and I was feeling a little stuck. On Monday, Oprah’s Life Class was focused on forgiveness (watch it here if you missed it – […]
Random Acts of Kindness
I have the pleasure of living with one of the most empathetic people I know – scratch that, THE most empathetic person I know. My husband, Kevin, has a natural way of truly feeling what others are going through and turning that toward action for good. I thank God for the lessons I receive through […]
A Healing for My Soul
A testimony on divine healing… As those of you that have been following the blog since the first entry know, I was experiencing depression and anxiety between October 2011 and January of this year. For a while, I was resistant to taking medication because I was afraid of the long term effects and was also afraid I would be […]
Black Sheep
First of all, I must divulge that I am JAMMIN right now! Black Sheep was one of my favorite groups of the early 90’s era and the song “The Choice is Yours” has been playing over and over in my mind all day (which was my favorite song by them, but a close second was “Flavor […]
